Intel® Enabled Server Acceleration Alliance
Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is the Intel® Enabled Server Acceleration Alliance (Intel® ESAA)?
An alliance in which Intel® processer-based server solutions are validated and certified by independent hardware and software vendors to provide an interoperable, supported solution stack. The program is designed to increase the server solution offerings of its member OEMs and resellers.

  2. How many independent software and hardware vendors are in the alliance?
For a complete list of vendors, visit the member directory.

  3. As a VAR/OEM, what do I get for joining?
You will receive a username and password providing access to:
—Over 100+ recipes in 8 different verticals
—Sales collateral (in local language where available)
    —Pre-sales engineering support
—Direct access to all ISV/IHVs in the program

  4. What is a recipe?
A step-by-step deployment guide that enables you to build and deploy a hardware/software solution stack. The recipe is written in non-technical language and is thoroughly tested to ensure an accurate and working deployment.

  5. What recipes are available?
View the ESAA Recipe Catalog »

  6. What is a certificate?
An electronically signed document that provides proof of certification for a specific reseller/OEM. On the certificate, the actual model name and number of the OEM is published as well as the signed logos of the application vendors supporting the configuration. This important document provides OEMs and resellers the ability to compete for customers with larger companies such as HP, IBM, and Dell. The certificate states that the application vendor supports this OEM and will stand behind the server solution engineering work.

  7. Do all application vendors provide certificates?
All vendors provide some form of certification; however, Intel ESAA-issued certificates are not available for every vendor. For those vendors who do not issue an Intel ESAA certificate, the vendor typically offers an alternative/sanctioned process to receive formal certification directly from the vendor. Intel ESAA will clearly communicate this process via the ESAA recipe where applicable.

  8. Will my server model name designator be listed on the hardware compatibility
lists for the various application vendors?

For those vendors that maintain hardware compatibility listings, yes. The hardware compatibility lists are typically updated on a quarterly basis, so at the first available time, Intel ESAA OEM and reseller members will have their products listed as supported.

  9. How is pre-sales support provided through the program?
Intel ESAA provides a path for pre-sales engineering support to all of its reseller/OEM members via the TSANet support site. TSANet is an independent organization that manages a database of names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses for all Intel ESAA application vendor support contacts.

  10. What is the process for joining?
    Resellers: Sign up at www.esaa-members.com/resellersignup.
ISVs/IHVs: Send an e-mail to esaamail@intel.com. Upon review and acceptance into the program, a $1,500USD annual fee is required.
